Among the various parts that make up a paddle tennis racket (handle, throat, frame and impact surface) without a doubt the most important is the core, which is integrated into the impact surface.

Being the part with which we hit the ball, it is essential that its manufacture is of high quality so that it is comfortable to use, has high durability, and allows us to have greater control in the game.

At ZFoam we manufacture cores for padel rackets with excellent performance, both in polyethylene foam (PE foam) and EVA foam, with different characteristics depending on the use and type of player it will be used for (child, amateur or professional, for example).

Padel racket core, PE or EVA?

First of all, we will clarify that both PE and EVA refer to foams, although of different composition. The so-called PE is a foam usually made of polyethylene (in this case, this is the material used to make the cores) and when we talk about EVA, we refer to a closed-cell ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.

In the world of padel rackets, we can find both variants and variations in density, the choice of which will depend on the preferences of each player, as well as the properties offered by each of the them.

PE foam core, for greater comfort

It is the favorite option for those who are new to this sport, as well as for those who are proned to injury, since it allows the ball to be thrown with less effort, as this core is softer than those made of EVA. On the other hand, they offer less control when playing, which can be noticed at certain times.

EVA core, the professional choice

The EVA core is more rigid than the PE foam and requires more effort when playing, although it also offers greater and very precise control of the ball, which is why it becomes the preferred option for players who already have a certain level, and even for those of an advanced or professional level.

Advice on technical foams for padel racket cores

We want to emphasize that the cores that we manufacture at ZFoam have a series of very interesting features that will undoubtedly be of interest to any professional. Some of them are:

  • We use high purity materials with no residual foaming agents or volatile organic compounds.
  • The core does not change in hardness in response to temperature, but remains constant.
  • Possibility of combining different densities and colors.
  • Constant density throughout the geometry and thickness of the blade.
  • Availability of different materials depending on the use (beginner, professional, etc).
  • Maximum control in the thickness of the foams, providing the tightest tolerances on the market.
