As you will be aware, we have recently released our new general catalogue of foams and insulating materials, an ambitious update that includes a host of new products and a classification system to make it easy for any professional to consult them.

While our previous posts were devoted to the sections about Azote® and Zotek® foams and both eticulated and non-reticulated polyolefin foams, we now focus on more sustainable and eco-friendly foams, options that now have an important presence in the packaging sector and continue to grow.

Eco-foams for a more sustainable world

At ZFoam we have always supported the circular economy and shown our commitment to sustainability by promoting new materials that offer the same performance as conventional fossil fuel-based materials but with none of their negative impacts on the environment. For this reason, these eco-foams had to be featured in our catalogue.

Specifically, you’ll find the ECO S33 (a non-reticulated foam that is very easy to recycle after its useful life), as well as LJ 35 BIO, LJ 45 BIO and BIO PN 30. These last three foams are different because they’re made from 100% renewable raw materials, such as sugar cane, forestry waste and used cooking oil, which also makes them carbon negative.

Some of our BIO foams have been certified by International Sustainability and Carbon Certification, and we have also renewed the ISCC Plus certification issued to us by this organisation.

Catalog of ecological foams

We offer you an ever-expanding range of environmentally friendly materials.

In addition to the BIO and ECO foams, which we remind you have featured in our catalogue since 2023, we have a new type of foam manufactured from cellulose fibre, which we use to bring you ZPack Isotherm: our solution for cardboard box linings with significant properties that include thermal insulation and its ability to be recycled in the same circuit as paper and cardboard.

The packaging sector is currently where the most demand is to be found for these types of foams, which are used both for protective packaging and as presentation packaging for a wide range of products such as luxury perfumes, wines and spirits.
