We are proud to announce that EcoVadis, the largest and most prestigious provider of sustainability ratings in the world, has awarded us the Gold Medal for having achieved the rating of 73 points out of 100, which places us in the 98th percentile of companies in our sector.
For ZFoam this means much more than a distinction, since it means recognition of continued work both in terms of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
EcoVadis takes into account four pillars (environment, work practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable purchases) to issue the corresponding score and deliver, if applicable, the bronze, silver, gold or platinum medal.
In our case, the score has grown year after year (it has been 60 in 2018, 68 in 2020 and 73 in 2022. We have the goal of increasing this score again and obtaining the platinum medal in the next qualification because it is important for ZFoam, as a company committed to the environment and society.
New ECO foams, a world of new possibilities
As you will surely know if you follow this blog regularly, at ZFoam we make a great effort to use increasingly sustainable foams that are gradually replacing traditional ones in a greater number of uses.
We have the clearest example in our BIO foams, made from forest residues, sugar cane, or used cooking oil, which have ISCC certification and have a negative carbon footprint. To these foams, we add the range of ECO foams, which incorporates foams with up to 65% recycled raw material and are fully recyclable at the end of their useful life.
On the other hand and as part of this same environmental commitment, at ZFoam we internally recycle more than 95% of the waste we generate, that is used to produce a material widely used as a sub-base for sports flooring.
We are constantly working to introduce a greater number of non-polluting, recyclable, and recycled materials.
Why are we evaluated by EcoVadis?
EcoVadis’ mission, through its global cloud platform, is to help companies move towards a more sustainable business model that respects the environment and people.
To do this, the organization carries out an evaluation of interested companies based on the four key points that we have mentioned previously (environment, work practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable purchases) to issue an internationally recognized qualification. In addition, guidance is provided on the strengths and areas for improvement, so that organizations can have a “road map” to continue their work towards increasingly higher standards in terms of sustainability and CSR.
As a consequence, a network of companies aligned with these sustainability criteria is created, which allows new business opportunities.
