In projects involving the transport of sensitive electronic components such as electronic control units (ECUs) or sensors, we apply the requirements of VDA 4504.. We use ESD foams that ensure the controlled dissipation of static electricity. The introduction of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) requires packaging to have absolute dimensional stability. If the foam deforms under the weight of the part, the robot’s pick-up coordinates become misaligned, causing unnecessary line stoppages.
